Social Security Corporation (SSC) The SSC provides pension, disability, work injury, maternity, and unemployment coverage. Both employers and employees contribute. Coverage is mandatory for Jordanian nationals and many resident foreign workers.
End-of-Service Compensation Employees terminated by the employer without valid cause, or who resign after 1 year of service for certain valid reasons, may be entitled to end-of-service compensation.

Employment conditions
Working Hours
Standard hours are 48 per week (8 hours per day). During Ramadan, hours are reduced to 6 per day. Overtime for hours beyond the standard must be compensated at a minimum of 125% of the regular rate (150% on rest days and public holidays).
Probation
Probation may not exceed 3 months. Either party may terminate during probation without notice or compensation.
Payments
End of employment in Jordan
Employment contracts may be terminated by mutual agreement, resignation, expiry of a fixed-term contract, or employer-initiated termination for cause. Dismissal without valid cause requires the employer to pay compensation equivalent to 1 month's wages per year of service (in addition to the notice period).
Notice requirements for indefinite-term contracts are 1 month. Final settlement must include all outstanding wages, unused annual leave entitlement, and any applicable compensation.
